My work grows out of a need to connect to humanity, and my attraction to literary and spiritual ideas. Traveling, reading, gardening, listening, walking, and singing are among the ideas I source when working in my studio. I build my work in layers. I paint what I want to see, to notice, to remember, what can on only be felt. I look for ways to slow time down, images that bring the present into focus or let us drift.
